Night Breeze

Spooky Poem by Chris Bunton

Cool night breeze.
Frogs chirping,
sounds no one sees.
Crickets strumming.
A dog warning.

That long train,
whistle far away.
Is it gonna rain?
Shadows sway
Phantoms play.

Mosquitoes hide,
from the wind,
Waiting to feed.
Long ago thoughts,
invade the mind.

The Banshee calls.
Did someone die,
down the hall?
Mystery lurks outside
behind the pines.

The light goes out.
The powers gone.
The neighbor’s shout
“What is going on?”
The storm looms strong.
