We Are Being Poisoned
I want to start out by saying that I’m not a doctor or chemist or scientist. But, I tend to notice things. Then, form opinions. And I’m typically right.
Years ago, I started eating organic foods. I did it because most of my family has died from cancer, and I believe the chemicals in our food, water and practically everywhere else is to blame.
When I started eating organically I would read labels to see what chemicals are in the food. Regular foods had a mile long list of chemicals. The food is also grown with pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers before it even gets to the factory where it’s processed.
Organic food lacked these chemicals. (Now is where someone will say “You can’t prove it’s organic…blah blah blah.) But, I can try and get the products from as reliable sources as I can.
Ok. So fast forward several months. I was working as hard as I could to make everything I consumed organic. (Yes, it’s more expensive. But so is cancer.) I ate organic foods, drank distilled or filtered water from my own filters and distillers. I used organic hygiene products. I tried to use products from glass, or healthier containers. I did everything I could.
And I noticed a few things. First, I did not stink any more. I know that sounds funny. But, there was no more body odor of any kind. Farts didn’t stink. Breath never stank. No BO, if I got sweaty or my deodorant failed. Nothing.
But, I also began to lose weight. Yes, I ate healthier and I did exercise. But, I just lost weight without trying.
That was when I came to the conclusion that the stuff they are putting in our food is making us fat. They add sugars to everything. (Who is “They”? The magical food making faeries, that’s who.)
But, it’s not just the sugars. It’s a chemical called EDC’s or Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals. Two types are named Obesogens and Diabetogens. According to the Endocrine Society, these chemicals which are in plastics, pesticides, and other chemicals that can leach into our food and water, by dozens of methods. These work to slow our metabolism. Processed foods are also a culprit.
It’s not just because we eat too much or do not work out like crazy. We have trouble losing weight because of poisons we are consuming.
The National Library of Medicine says that EDC’s not only can cause obesity, but also can cause multiple other diseases.
Oddly, when you look up a slowed metabolism you will get popular websites who mention nothing about chemicals causing a slowed metabolism. They always talk about DNA, or diet and exercise. (Which is good, don’t get me wrong. But, when you grow up seeing people fighting to lose weight using everything they can and only losing a few pounds. There must be something else going on.)
I remember growing up and seeing less over weight people. Even myself. I remember looking at pictures of young men going into the military during WW2, and not a single over weight person. Why is it worse? Why is it only in America or wealthy countries? Of course, people will say we are more sedentary or we eat more, and all of that. But, perhaps it’s the chemicals we consume and are exposed to like the Science Digest suggests.
Again, I’m not saying that reducing food intake and exercising more won’t help us lose weight. What I am saying, is that everyone in the 80’s was not doing Jazzercize or the Jane Fonda workout. But, there was less obesity.
It’s true that reducing your calorie or food intake will help you lose some weight. It’s also true that running 20 miles will burn off that single doughnut you had for breakfast. It’s also highly likely that our genetics play a part. But, maybe it’s not just genetics. Maybe our metabolism has been slowed by the chemicals we consume and are exposed to? Could you tell the difference? Could you prove it’s because you didn’t join the gym, or because you drink BPA chemicals from your plastic water bottles?
Are you sure that the beautiful person trying to sell you their latest exercise machine is thin, because they work out? Or is it because they have switched to organic foods and their metabolism is faster because of it? You don’t know for sure.
Instead of blaming ourselves, and destroying our self-esteem. Perhaps we should look at the chemicals we consume.
I can tell you that by living an organic lifestyle and avoiding chemicals as much as possible you could possibly speed up your metabolism and lose weight, while gaining other health benefits as well.
Try it. Read the labels. Get extreme on it. There are organic options for virtually everything. Create a whole new lifestyle. Get excited. Get radical against the poisons that are killing you.
Yes, it costs more. But, how much do we spend on weight loss gimmicks? I realize you have a whole family to feed. But, as more people consume organic and speak out about chemicals in our life, the costs will come down. I have seen the prices come down tremendously from when I first started eating organic. Besides, even trying a little bit, could be helpful.
Eating organic is far healthier than diet pills or diet sodas. Nothing I’ve said will harm you. But, you have to be dedicated. Because once you start eating organic, and then go back to eating regular, you will notice weight gain again. You will feel terrible again.
Try it. You have nothing to lose except weight, pain, illness, depression. and God knows what other things these chemicals might be doing to us.

The Coming Persecution
A Look at Matthew 24 “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive…
How Are We Tempted?
It’s important to understand. In order to resist temptation, we must understand what is going on. If we miss an aspect of it, we cannot really resist it. We just shift it around or suffer through. “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with…
How Do I Turn To God?
What does that look like? It’s so simple anyone can do it. That is how God designed it. I’m going to avoid magical theological words and just give it straight. As we go through life things happen to us. Good things and bad. We have excitement over good things. We celebrate victories and enjoy time…
