But Without Faith…

Spiritual Truth By Chris Bunton

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”—Heb. 11:6

God has given each one of us a measure of faith so that we are able to believe in Him and believe His promises. That is why we are without excuse. We have the ability but we refuse, or become distracted or deceived by Satan.

God loves us and comes to each of us, asking to have a relationship with us. Trying to save us and give us a hope and get us out of bondage to the enemy.

When we turn to Him He delights in saving us and working in our lives. He rewards us in many ways for putting our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and believing the promises that God has given us in His Word.

When we turn to Him, and acknowledge Him in all our ways He will direct our paths.

Just pray about everything. And you will find Him moving before you and showing where to go before you even get there. Your relationship will be such that you will see his pillar of fire and smoke, going before. You will hear His still small voice guiding your life.

He is real. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. When you put your faith and trust in Him you will see His presence. When we see His presence, our faith in Him grows.

Are you really trusting Him?

When He says “Whatsoever you ask in my name I will do it?” Do you believe?

When He says “If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed…” do you believe?

Or do you create excuses for why it might not be true?

Stop caring about outcomes, and start delighting in seeing Him work.

He is able. He is able to save, He is able to release you. He is able to heal. He is able to solve the problem.

He is able. Say it.

He is willing because He loves you. Say it.

He is going to do it, one way or another. Say it and trust it. Say it over and over

He is there. He hears. He loves and He is moving. He delights in seeing your faith grow.

Your relationship with Him is all that matters.

Abide in Him and Trust.

What is Hell?

What do the scriptures say? When we study the scriptures on a subject, we go by what the entire Word says, based upon the guiding of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will lead us into ALL truth. That’s how it works. (John 16:13, Jas 1:5) We are surrounded by lots of false teachings, and…

Evil Is With Me

Our Peace

Our Peace Comes Through Knowing Him “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”—Phil. 4:6-7 You’ve seen the slogan “Know Jesus. Know Peace. No…

Real Hope

Spiritual Truth by Chris Bunton

There was an experiment conducted in the 1950’s using rats. Read more HERE.

It was a cruel experiment but it gives some important insights.

The experimenter, took domestic rats and put them in glass jars filled with water.

A few rats immediately gave up and committed suicide, basically.

But, the rest of the rats swam for days trying to survive.

Next, the experimenter used wild rats.

They all gave up and died in a short time.

The experiment continued. But, let’s stop here for a moment, and ask ourselves.

What’s the difference between,  the few domesticated rats who committed suicide and the ones who did not?

Then, let’s ask ourselves what’s the difference between the domesticated and the wild?

Remember, there’s more to the experiment. But, at this point we can see a difference.

This is my interpretation.

The difference is human contact.

The domesticated rats had been raised by humans. Fed, watered, cages cleaned, they probably heard the humans talking to them, or to other humans. They had developed a trust of the humans.

The wild rats feared humans, they had no good experiences with humans at all.

The few rats that committed suicide, had never fully trusted their human masters.

That’s the difference. Human contact.

Now, the original experimenter, we are told, saw that hope was the reason for what he observed. The domesticated rats who lived longer had hope that the human would come, like they always had.

They had hope, and trusted the humans.

In the next phase of the experiment. The experimenter tested both wild and domesticated rats.

He put them in jars of water and let them swim until the point where they finally gave up. Then, he saved them and let them rest before putting them back into the jars.

After this salvation, both wild and domesticated rats, swam even longer than before.

The experimenter determined that the rats had hope that help would come. So, they could endure longer.

Ok, so that’s the basic lesson we can glean from this experiment.  Hope has the power to help people to endure the struggles of this world.

We can build hope in ourselves and we can give hope to other people. This hope can save the day.

But, let’s go further.

Let’s go into the spiritual. Which might not have been the intent of the experiment. But, it’s my belief that everything exists to point us to God, and teach us of Him. It all works, to draw us to Him, or away.

What do animals think of humans? I know they fear us. But, do they think we are really smart animals? Or do we become “gods” to them?

I put “gods” in lower case and quotes, because I have no doubt that animals and small children know who the real God is.

But, do they see us as some kind of ministering angel perhaps? Or a fallen demonic angel?

I do not know. But, if we look at this experiment in terms of our own walk with God, can we see parallels? Similarities?

When we choose to believe God is working in our life, does it give us more hope? Does it give us more faith, when we trust Him?

Is hope and faith the same?

Faith-filled hope is not the same as “gee I hope so.”

Hope with faith says “God is my only Hope, and I have faith He is coming.”

That is not “hope so.”

The rats trusted and had hope. When they were saved the first time, it gave them even more hope and faith because they had proof. They trusted that the human would come, and he did. Then, they knew he would come again, and had faith to endure.

Do you see the similarities?

God is good. He loves us and takes care of us. He saves us and will come again.

The things God has done for us in the past is proof for our hope and faith that He will take care of us, and be there for us in the future. Think of the great things God has done for you. It will help us to endure.

Trust Him.

Falling Dust

Fantasy Poem by Chris Bunton

Falling from above
sparkles of the moon
glittering around
in glowing soft light
moon dust fills the sky.

Drifting, Falling
Faeries gather
floating on wing
in the minds eye.

To their king
they return
baskets heaped.

The moon
is full

Shine

Down

It floats
like snow.

Dwarven crews
filling globes
lighting mines

With low moon glow
While Elven glades
glisten silver
Magick to sow

Moon dust brings the change
to humans below
Lycans on the prowl
Powder lights the way
Along freedoms howl.

Do Not Be Like Them

Do We Follow Evil Authority? There’s a Christian concept that I have struggled with over the years. It is the idea that believers are supposed to bow down to Authority. No matter how evil it is. The concept comes from this verse, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no…

True Mythology

Speculation by Chris Bunton

It’s been my belief for a while now that a lot of what has been deemed “mythology”, is in fact history.

I think that what happens is that the oral history becomes corrupted, and that one must look at what is actually being said.

It’s like the old game where a story is told to a person and then it’s repeated to each person in the room. And by the time it gets back to the original story teller the tale has changed.

Consider this over thousands of years. Not only that, but consider that humans were different, long ago. Consider that the nature of our world was different.

Perhaps humans were in greater connection to the natural and spiritual world.

Perhaps things have happened to the world and humans that has altered us and it.

Maybe there are things humans saw that they could not fully explain or understand and it became fantastical elements of what we call mythology. Or perhaps it was true.

Our science speaks of other realities and worlds that could exist. Parallel universes, and other things.

Maybe our ancestors were in touch with things that we have learned to deny or ignore or that was driven away.

So why did I come to this conclusion?

Because I’m a rebel like that.

And because it’s a fact that all people groups divided by oceans and mountain ranges tell the same stories. They have similar gods. Similar tales of creation and global destruction and spiritual beings and other realities.

Some things could be coincidence or happen naturally. For example, it might be natural for humans living in caves to think they were created and by whom.

That might be a normal thing humans do every where. But, would there be similarities? Or maybe early humans knew for a fact that they were created and even saw or knew the creator.

There’s a reason why these stories persist to this day and have not been completely proven to be untrue despite what we are told to the contrary.

Once you make the leap from mythology as fanciful tales to mythology as true history. You might be surprised at the doors that open and where that rabbit hole leads.

Things We Can’t Write About

Truth Poetry by Chris Bunton

There are things.
Things that we can’t write about.

Things we can’t speak of,
Lest we open doors of destruction.

What sort of things?
You might ask, prying.

Do you not know?
Are you perfect in every way?

I’m speaking of those sins,
we commit, which never see the light of day.

Those lusty affairs,
That would destroy a family.

Those terrible things we say that,
We would get canceled for.

Those demonic thoughts,
That creep into the mind.

And what about those things
we did when no one was around.

Those crimes we might have to pay for.

Those things we should not be forgiven for.

The sneaky acts, that would break a heart.

Or maybe, the filthy lies,
that ruined a life, or took one.

There are things we can never write about.

Or maybe that’s what fiction is for.

Civil Vs. Criminal

Reform by Chris Bunton

I’m not a lawyer or a Constitutional scholar. But, I believe the Founders wrote the Constitution in simple plain language so that any citizen could understand their rights. (If they could read English)

To tell someone they have rights and freedoms but yet hide them behind a mountain of legalese would be to strip them of the rights they allegedly have.

So, I feel that I am infinitely qualified to speak on this subject because it is simple.

In a civil trial a citizen is not afforded the same protections as they are in a criminal trial.

Apparently lawyers and politicians think that bankrupting someone is less damaging than locking them up for a while.

In a civil trial you cannot have a lawyer appointed to represent you like you can in a criminal.

So, in a civil trial the poor gets shafted, if you cannot afford one.

In a civil trial the burden of proof is less. They do not have to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt. They just need to seem to be 51% correct.

The protections against illegal search and seizure, as well as being required to provide evidence against yourself are lessened in civil trials.

A court can allow fishing expeditions and force citizens to provide information or evidence that helps destroy them.

If a citizen refuses or doesn’t completely obey, they will be held In contempt of court and can be jailed. Again, without jury or trial or lawyer appointed.

On top of that, The protections against cruel and unusual punishment are thrown out the window.

It must not seem cruel and unusual to charge a man a billion dollar settlement, when the man is no where near a billionaire. To totally destroy a person’s livelihood. To strip them of their children. To charge them fees that make them homeless.

A citizen can be sued for virtually anything. Whether the court allows it or not, there is damage done. And heaven help you if it’s the government bringing you to civil court. You’ll wish you were in prison.

So, that brings us to the temptation to use civil courts, to gain info. to be used in criminal courts.

Does the Government use information obtained in civil trials to bring charges against a person in criminal trials, thus bypassing the protections afforded them?

Does it happen?

Now we might think that these civil trials are about the little guy going after the big corporations or getting money from insurance companies to help with bills, or getting a doctor or neighbor who was negligent.

But, it’s also used to go after middle class citizens who owe taxes. It’s used in custody and child support cases against parents who have done no wrong.

Civil courts are used to destroy all kinds of people. We don’t know if they are innocent because there are less protections.

And the worst thing is that no where in the Constitution does it say, a citizen loses rights and protections in a civil court.

It’s not there.

There is nothing in the Constitution that plainly states that a citizens loses freedoms or rights in a civil trial.

Nothing.

It’s almost like lawyers created a whole new trial system.

I’m sure they would say, ” Well this legal concept comes from the English system of law where we get all of our concepts.”

Didn’t we fight a war to get away from those guys?

The American legal system needs serious reform to take it back to what the Founders envisioned. We have fallen so far away, we cannot even see what the original was.

But, like the English system, the American gentry control the courts, while the peasants struggle to find justice.

A Friend To Me

Poem by Chris Bunton

What is a friend to me?
Well it’s none of those
SOB’s
If you know what I mean.

A friend invites me places,
They want me to come.
Not as a charity.
But, because they enjoy me.

A friend doesn’t,
tell me what to do.
They don’t play stupid,
Tough love games.

My friends mind,
Their own business.
And I mind my own.
They don’t cross lines.

My friends laugh,
When I’m inappropriate.
They don’t call me out,
And I don’t call them out.

I don’t have to lie,
To my real friends.
They never ask,
And can handle the truth.

In case you wondered,
I don’t have many friends.
I toss them away
When they cross me.

And they always cross me.

Relentless Serial Killer

Poem by Chris Bunton

Tired

Running through the darkness

Confused as the killer comes

Everyday

Every night

The pain

The mystery of what comes next

Hounded.

Pursued.

Through the wilderness.

No rest for the wicked.

Just constant shame and misery.

As that killer,

called time; comes again and again

More and more he takes.

And more and more he devours

No one escapes his lust

Father Time

That serial killer comes for us all.

For Them

A Poem About Our Work

Americans give their entire lives, to bosses who don’t care about them.

We adjust our lives to make room for 40 plus hours devoted to them.

We neglect our health, our spirits, our souls, and our families for them.

We buy special clothes, and behave in special ways to please them.

We pay child care, and buy cars to make sure we are able to serve them.

Everything is ruled by some employer. It’s all controlled by them.

We get up at the sound of a bell to make sure we get to work for them.

We scarf down garbage to make sure we can make it through for them.

We rush and rush to not get fired for being late so we can work for them.

We are supposed to be totally focused and dedicated all for them.

We work hard to get a little break, then rush to give even more to them.

We eat a garbage lunch, getting fat, so we can get back to serve them.

We get off at the exact time to crawl through the crowd just for them.

We spend a few moments it seems relaxing with family without them.

We go to bed exhausted to make sure we are ready to go and serve them.

We awake and can barely sleep with a heart full of trouble about them.

These employers do not care about us. We are just a number to them.

They think our measly pay covers the off the clock things we do for them.

We live with constant threats of losing our jobs if we disappoint them.

We worry about our children and losing everything on a whim from them.

We have no protections or respect. The laws are twisted for them.

We are broke and barely get by, working to build up wealth for them.

But, if we take time off or ask for a raise or a lump of coal, it insults them.

Then people realize it’s a dead end life, working and serving them.

So all these employers wonder why no one wants to work for them.

We need change. We need better pay, benefits, and time to live for us.
